Local agency creates walk-in portfolio. Introducing Simply Amish Furniture Boutique.

Champaign, Illinois, October 10, 2007—It's not every day that an advertising agency opens a furniture store.

In fact, it's such a bizarre concept that we're sure you had to go back and read that last sentence again. But it's exactly what Spinlight, a local advertising agency and design studio, has done.

Building on a five year agency/client relationship, Spinlight announced today that they have taken their interest in Simply Amish furniture of Arcola, Illinois, to a higher level, becoming a dealer of the brand and opening a new retail venture, the Simply Amish Furniture Boutique (www.simplyamishstore.com).

"In creating this boutique, we've really created a portfolio piece that people can walk right into." says Spinlight cofounder and principal, Matt Hutton.

"We're not just selling furniture, although the furniture is extraordinary." adds Debby Winter, the other founding member and Spinlight principal. "Everything in the store, from the interior design and construction to the advertising materials and styling, has been done by the whole Spinlight team. It's a real-world example of our range of abilities and what we bring to the table as an advertising agency and as designers."

Located at 500 N. Walnut in Champaign, the Simply Amish Furniture Boutique features not only the Simply Amish brand of custom made Amish furniture, but also many home designs and accessories chosen by the Spinlight staff—including pieces by artists Tord Boontje, Jonathan Adler, Angela Adams, Mud, Emeco and a host of others. Store hours are 10am to 7pm Tuesday through Friday, and Saturday from 9am to 5pm.

The Spinlight/Simply Amish Connection
Spinlight's connection to Simply Amish began in late 2000, when they were chosen by the furniture company to create their new catalog. Within a few years, the relationship blossomed to near partnership proportions, with Spinlight creating a new look and feel for the entire Simply Amish brand—winning several national design awards and a lot of new fans along the way.
